PLAYGROUP LEADER
A DOG'S LIFE, voted best doggie daycare in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, is searching for enthusiastic dog lovers to manage, care for and interact with our pups. We are interviewing for the following full or part time position: Playgroup Leader
Turn your passion into your career! If you LOVE both dogs and exercise then this is the job for you! You must have a passion for dogs, high energy, excellent communication skills, reliable transportation, a strong work ethic and the desire to have FUN! You must be able to work as a team player in a fast paced and loud atmosphere that can be physically demanding. Playgroup Leaders are responsible for supervising and regulating all dog-dog play, interacting with clients and helping to open and close the facility. Applicants must be mature, able to take initiative, be punctual and extraordinarily dependable. Individuals must be able to function in a very fast paced, physical environment and lift up to 40-50 lbs.
Our Sunnyvale and Milpitas facilities are open 365 days a year and our Palo Alto Facility is open Monday-Friday. Holiday availability is a huge plus for all locations! The ability to work between our facilities is highly desirable. More hours may become available in the future.
****Prior working/volunteer experience with dogs is HIGHLY DESIRED**** However, employees receive all necessary training on site, so a great personality and the desire to learn about dogs are a MUST!
Typical responsibilities include managing and interacting with the dog playgroups, feeding meals, washing dishes, general cleaning and maintenance. Attentiveness to the pups is an absolute must! Applicants must not have a fear of elbow grease, as our reputation depends upon not only our safety, but our CLEANLINESS, as well. We have great customers and a great team, and we are looking for a terrific addition to that team.
Reliable transportation (whether it be your own vehicle, public transportation, etc) is a must. A background check will be done on all qualified candidates. Positions start at $8.75/hour, and may be negotiable depending on experience. LOBBY HOST
A DOG'S LIFE, voted best doggie daycare, boarding, training and grooming facility in the Silicon Valley Tails 2007, 2008 and 2009 Reader's Choice Awards, is searching for enthusiastic dog lovers to join our team. We are interviewing for the following part time position: Lobby Host/Playgroup Leader.
If you are looking for a job in the Pet Care industry where you get to interact with dogs and humans alike, this is the job for you! We are looking for a bright and energetic candidate with outstanding customer service skills to work at the front desk of our Palo Alto daycare. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a sunny disposition are required for this position. Our clients are very important to us, and we want them to be treated to the best service possible!
The Primary duties of the Lobby Host are checking in our daycare dogs, assisting customers with questions and requests, updating client files, as well as light housekeeping to keep our Lobby and Owner’s Lounge looking clean and inviting! This position requires extensive use of computers. Candidates must have a solid foundation with MS Word and Excel, be proficient with email, and able to pick up our client tracking and database software quickly. Candidates must also have excellent phone skills and be able to multitask.
Secondary duties of this position will be as a Playgroup Leader on our daycare floor, interacting with and ensuring the safety of our pups! You must be able to work as a team player in a fast paced and loud atmosphere that can be physically demanding. Playgroup Leaders are responsible for supervising and regulating all dog-dog play and helping to open and close the facility.
We are currently looking for two part time Lobby Hosts for our Milpitas facility: Sun-Tue, 6:45 - 3:45 and Wed-Fri, 6:45-3:45. More hours may be available in the future, and Playgroup Leading shifts will most likely be available, as well. Experience with animals is not required, but is a big plus! Individuals must be able to function in a very fast paced, physical environment and lift up to 40-50 lbs. We see all sizes of dogs on a daily basis, so be prepared to be handling anything from a 5-pound Yorkshire Terrier to a 150-pound Great Dane!
Reliable transportation (whether it be your own car, public transportation, a bike, etc) is a must, as well as a cell phone (with voice mail). A background check will be done on all qualified candidates. Positions start at $9.00/hour, and may be negotiable depending on experience. Perks include free daycare & boarding for your dog, discounted grooming for your pup, free training classes, opportunities for education and more!

GROOMER

We have everything from Yorkshire Terriers to Great Danes, Chinese Crested to Standard Poodles, so you must be comfortable working with all breeds of dogs, and be able to do so with a gentle hand.
*****To be eligible for this position, you must have a minimum of one year experience working as a groomer at a professional grooming salon and/or be a graduate of a professional grooming school.*****
