PLAYGROUP LEADER
A DOG'S LIFE, voted best doggie daycare, boarding, training and grooming facility in the Silicon Valley Tails 2007, 2008 and 2009 Reader's Choice Awards, is searching for enthusiastic dog lovers to manage, care for and interact with our pups. We are interviewing for the following part-time position: Playgroup Leader.
Turn your passion into your career! If you LOVE both dogs and exercise then this is the job for you! You must have a passion for dogs, high energy, excellent communication skills, reliable transportation, a strong work ethic and the desire to have FUN! You must be able to work as a team player in a fast paced and loud atmosphere that can be physically demanding. Playgroup Leaders are responsible for supervising and regulating all dog-dog play, interacting with clients and helping to open and close the facility. Applicants must be mature, able to take initiative, be punctual and extraordinarily dependable. Individuals must be able to function in a very fast paced, physical environment and lift up to 40-50 lbs.
Our Sunnyvale and Milpitas facilities are open 365 days a year and our Palo Alto Facility is open Monday-Friday. We are looking for a few new staff members to take on 3-4 shifts per week as Playgroup Leaders in our Sunnyvale location for our morning through late afternoon shifts (multiple shifts available starting as early as 6:30 AM and ending by 5PM). Holiday availability is a huge plus! More hours may become available in the future.
****Prior working/volunteer experience with dogs is HIGHLY DESIRED****
However, employees receive all necessary training on site, so a great personality and the desire to learn about dogs are a MUST!
Typical responsibilities include managing and interacting with the dog playgroups, feeding meals, washing dishes, general cleaning and maintenance. Attentiveness to the pups is an absolute must! Applicants must not have a fear of elbow grease, as our reputation depends upon not only our safety, but our CLEANLINESS, as well. We have great customers and a great team, and we are looking for a terrific addition to that team.
Reliable transportation (whether it be your own vehicle, public transportation, etc) is a must. Ability to take client dogs home for the evening is a big plus. A background check will be done on all qualified candidates. Positions start at $8.75/hour, and may be negotiable depending on experience. Perks include free daycare and training classes, discounted boarding and grooming for your pup, opportunities for education (including Certification through the Pet Care Services Association), full medical and dental benefits for full-time employees and more!
